“Jane went above and beyond to help us relocate and get our home ready for sale, using creative problem solving and genuine concern. Most importantly, Jane showed incredible sensitivity related to deaths in the family and how that impacts hanging onto and letting go of possessions.

The team helped us go through 35 years of accumulated family possessions so we could relocate smoothly from Illinois to Maine. To be sure we were well taken care of. Jane even helped manage the professional movers."

Many Chicago area seniors come to realize that their current home may not be the best place for them because it doesn't fit their needs anymore. Illness, injury, challenging floor plans or a wish for a change of scenery can foster the transition. A decision to move may sometimes come with little notice.

Family members may be overwhelmed with demands of work, children and other aging parents that need assistance. When seniors transition, we can provide effective emotional and physical support. Paring down can be a daunting task but having an objective, yet caring professional can help move the process along and makes everything run smoothly. The pace is up to the client.  This can comfort the senior and ease the transition for everyone.

Not everyone has the qualifications and training necessary to manage senior moves. In the unregulated field of senior relocation and home transition services, the Certified Transition Specialist credential defines those who are trained to understand and support the social, physical and emotional struggles older adults face when moving. Certification requires testing and hours of education annually. It also requires a personal commitment to serving seniors in transition.
